How it works
Q.

How are organizations vetted?

A.

Currently organizations must first be referred to us from our existing network of contacts. Once referred, we reach out to learn more about the organization. If we're still interested, we arrange a video meeting with the founder to learn more about them and their heart behind what they do. Finally, an in-person trip is scheduled with a Compassion United representative who visits their works in person, sees the fruit of the organization, and gets to know them further. If everything checks out and all board members approve, we will add the organization to our partners.

Q.

Can I speak with someone directly to feel more comfortable about my donation?

A.

Yes! Our founder, Adam Pitts, is happy to meet in person, set up a zoom call, phone call, texts, whatever you need to help you feel confident that your donation is in safe hands and will be stewarded well.

Giving
Q.

How much of my donation goes towards the project or cause?

A.

100%!  We take no overhead percentage out of your donation. We even cover international wire transfer fees out of our own overhead funds, which are provided by private donors who believe in the mission of Compassion United. No matter what amount you give, every penny goes where you wanted it to go - straight to the actual project or cause you cared about!

Q.

How do I know my funds went where I wanted them to go?

A.

We strongly request that our partners send us photo/video updates of projects as they go underway and get completed. Sometimes this may not be possible, but as much as is possible we want donors to see the actual end result of their gift. Whether it be the smiling face of a rescued child or the finished construction of a new school, we believe you, the donor, deserve to see the end result of your sacrificial gift!

Q.

Are my donations tax deductible?

A.

Yes! Compassion United is an IRS registered non-profit with 501c3 designation.
