Books to Fill Those Bags. Hope to Fill Young Lives.

Just weeks ago, thousands of Christian children walked home smiling. For many, it was the first time in their lives they owned a proper pair of shoes and a school bag. Children from villages, slums, and brick kilns around Lahore stood taller that day. They felt seen. They felt valued.

But now they are asking us something simple and deeply honest:

“We have bags. Now we need books.”

For children born into poverty, education is not guaranteed. Many of these boys and girls are children of brick kiln laborers, families trapped in generational debt and modern-day slavery. After school, some return to help their parents mold bricks by hand. Others work to put food on the table. Studying without books is almost impossible, yet this is their daily reality.

Chopan’s next urgent challenge is clear. Before March, we are committed to providing 3,000 sets of essential textbooks, along with Bible study books, to these deserving Christian children. This is not about extras. These books are the difference between falling behind and moving forward, between dropping out and daring to dream.

Behind every set of books is a child like Lishba, who studies by day and makes bricks by evening, yet still dreams of becoming a professional. Or like Yashwa, who worked nights in a restaurant so he could continue his education. Books tell these children that their future matters, that faith and learning walk hand in hand.
